About The Position

Emerson is seeking an experienced Engineer to join their New Generation Power Projects Proposals team in Cranberry Township, PA. This role will focus on developing Ovation-based solutions for existing Ovation customers across North America. The Lead Proposal Engineer will prepare Ovation Advantage proposals for control system modernization, subsystem replacements, and ancillary systems integration. Emerson's Ovation distributed control system (DCS) is a reliable and innovative platform that helps customers in critical industries address modern challenges, improving plant reliability and contributing to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable world.

Requirements

BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
Experience with the Ovation DCS platform.
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Responsibilities

Prepare DCS proposals for new generation power projects in response to customer requests.
Provide guidance and mentorship to developing proposal engineers.
Perform review of customer specifications and conform compliance.
Define proposal strategies that align with customer specifications, based on organizational goals, market insight, and expert process and product knowledge.
Collaborate across teams to validate technical feasibility, engineering requirements, and cost‑effective solutions.
Engage directly with customers to communicate Emerson’s capabilities and understand application needs.
Develop optimal project cost structures that mitigate technical risk and strengthen competitive positioning.
Support presentations, interviews, and negotiations utilizing a thorough understanding of customer applications and Emerson capabilities and products.
Partner effectively with sales, engineering, project teams, and global offices as needed to deliver cohesive proposal packages.
