About The Position

The Lead Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and updating project schedules to support successful project execution in accordance with baseline and contractual requirements. This role requires a strong background in scheduling within the EPC industry, advanced analytical and critical-thinking skills, and the ability to clearly communicate schedule status, risks, impacts, and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders, including clients, executives, and project execution teams. The Lead Scheduler provides technical leadership within the scheduling function, including mentoring and training schedulers in scheduling fundamentals, schedule development and analysis, quality standards, and company scheduling processes. This individual is expected to identify schedule risks, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and provide credible schedule insight that supports project planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Project Controls, or a related field; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive project scheduling experience.
  • Renewable energy scheduling experience required.
  • Experience in EPC and self-perform construction environments preferred.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience and competency in leading, mentoring, or developing others.
  • Advanced knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and its application to complex construction projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6, including schedule structure, logic development, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and the ability to evaluate schedule logic, constructability, and execution strategy.
  • Advanced schedule analysis skills, including variance analysis, critical and near-critical path analysis, identification of schedule drivers, recovery planning, and Time Impact Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of project controls principles, including Work Breakdown Structures, Earned Value Management, schedule performance measurement, and the relationship between schedule performance and project cost.
  • Working knowledge of contractual scheduling requirements and their application to project schedule development, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical schedule information for project teams, leadership, and clients.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines, appropriately challenge assumptions, and facilitate resolution of schedule conflicts.
  • Ability to manage priorities and maintain schedule quality across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated accountability, adaptability, and willingness to incorporate input to improve project and organizational outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with P6 EPPM database management and Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy, or power generation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update high-quality project schedules with sound logic, sequencing, and standardized structure.
  • Ensure schedule updates meet company scheduling standards, contractual requirements, and established QA/QC expectations.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, preconstruction, construction, and other stakeholders to obtain schedule inputs and validate execution assumptions.
  • Monitor project progress and perform schedule analysis to identify variances, key drivers, risks, delays, and potential recovery needs.
  • Prepare schedule narratives, progress and variance reports, look-ahead schedules, and other schedule deliverables to support project execution and management decision-making.
  • Communicate schedule status, risks, impacts, and recommendations clearly to project teams, management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Review schedule logic, sequencing, and constructability and work with project teams to resolve conflicts or deficiencies.
  • Review and redline schedule-related contract exhibits and requirements to ensure alignment with company scheduling standards and project execution strategy.
  • Support compliance with contractual scheduling obligations and project specifications.
  • Lead schedule planning and review sessions with project teams and other stakeholders.
  • Provide schedule analysis and support for recovery planning, change evaluation, and time impact analyses.
  • Lead technical scheduling discussions with client representatives as needed.
  • Apply scheduling and project controls best practices consistently across assigned projects.
  • Mentor and guide schedulers in schedule development, analysis, quality standards, and company processes.
  • Support continuous improvement and consistency in scheduling practices, tools, and deliverables across the organization.
