About The Position

Lead Project Leader responsible for delivery of the Commissioning activities for the North America major projects. GSI NAM Commissioning Lead Project Manager is responsible for project delivery, warranty, management of project related activities and resources, profit & loss accountability and customer relations and satisfaction. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has some autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment. Le chef de projet principal de mise en service GSI NAM est responsable de la livraison du projet, de la garantie, de la gestion des activités et des ressources liées au projet, de la responsabilité des profits et pertes, ainsi que des relations avec les clients et de la satisfaction. Régie les approches, projets et programmes dans le domaine fonctionnel ou l’organisation commerciale concernée et les méthodes de travail. Régie la qualité, l’efficacité et l’efficience de sa propre équipe. Participe de manière significative aux priorités. Guidé par des pratiques et politiques professionnelles qui sont façonnées par le rôle ; Le rôle a une certaine autonomie, nécessitant un haut niveau de jugement opérationnel.

Requirements

  • This role requires significant experience in the Project. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Hold a University degree specialized in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Field
  • 5-10 years of work experience, with minimum 15 years of proved Project management experience (relevant to the role)
  • Proficiency Spoken & Written - English Must
  • Proficiency Spoken & Written - French Desirable

Responsibilities

  • Perform Commissioning scope review and compare with the GE quote upon transfer of the project file from the Commercial group to Project management.
  • Lead the project kick-off meeting with all internal contributors and assign roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead the customer kick-off meeting to communicate the nature of the work that will be done and clarify any issues in the order.
  • Coordinate all activities related to the project.
  • Follow project spend vs budget (cost, materials, labor)
  • Lead and draft project follow-up meeting summaries (internal and external).
  • Follow-up on the project derogations.
  • Perform invoicing according to the contract terms.
  • Follow-up with GE procurement department on supplier deliveries
  • Communicate and inform the customer of project progress on a regular basis.
  • Produce the project Post-Mortem analysis report.
  • Perform the administrative closing of the project.
