About The Position

As a Lead Project Manager, you will provide leadership, oversight, and execution management for multiple large-scale, high-priority technology initiatives, including enterprise application modernization, business process enhancement, and system implementation efforts. This role is responsible for driving projects from initiation through successful deployment while ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading complex technology projects, managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with business and technical stakeholders, overseeing vendors, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful project delivery through established project management methodologies and governance practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise technology projects from initiation through implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies, project lifecycle management, and governance practices.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead business process reengineering, system modernization, and enterprise application implementation efforts.
  • Experience developing project management plans, communication plans, change management plans, and governance documentation.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, implementation planning, and deployment processes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including application development, infrastructure, security, networking, data management, and operations teams.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, contract deliverables, and third-party project dependencies.
  • Strong risk management experience including development of mitigation strategies and issue resolution plans.
  • Experience creating and presenting project status reports, executive briefings, dashboards, and project metrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, facilitation, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding project teams and junior project management staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to project challenges.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders and team members.
  • Experience with enterprise project management tools, reporting platforms, and project governance frameworks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials are highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting government, healthcare, enterprise technology, or regulated industry environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of large-scale technology projects and modernization initiatives.
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and project closeout.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project management plans, schedules, resource allocations, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across business teams, technical teams, vendors, infrastructure teams, security teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Create project estimates and manage revisions to timelines, scope, budgets, and resource requirements as needed.
  • Obtain stakeholder approval for project plans, schedules, deliverables, and change requests.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure milestones, deliverables, and service commitments are achieved.
  • Track and manage project budgets, expenditures, and resource utilization.
  • Identify, document, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies using RAID management practices.
  • Implement and manage change control processes to ensure proper governance of project scope changes.
  • Develop communication plans and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, executive summaries, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Facilitate project meetings, decision-making sessions, stakeholder reviews, and status updates.
  • Coordinate software quality assurance activities, testing efforts, and project readiness reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational project management standards, methodologies, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure project schedules include all necessary infrastructure, application, data, security, and operational activities.
  • Facilitate discussions between internal teams and external vendors to achieve project objectives and business outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, issues, and escalations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, business leaders, project sponsors, and technical teams.
  • Deliver weekly project updates and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Coordinate training activities, user readiness efforts, and organizational change management support.
  • Mentor junior project management professionals and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support portfolio management activities and organizational project governance efforts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
