About The Position

The New England Electric Major Projects team drives project management for major electric capital construction project investments, leading the clean energy transformation and significant portfolio growth. Projects primarily include multi-year complex, large-scale Transmission, Distribution, and Substation construction. The dedicated Lead Project Manager will oversee and drive major electric capital construction projects, from early development through closeout, ensuring safe delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant fields, coupled with significant experience in project management, engineering, contracting, construction, and operations.
  • 5+ years of experience within the electric energy sector in one or more of the following areas: project management, engineering, contracts, construction or operations.
  • 5+ years of detailed project financial forecasting, reporting and schedule management.
  • 5+ years of managing and coaching teams as well as communicating and presenting to leadership.
  • Primavera P6, Procore and PowerPlan experience.
  • Microsoft Office, Power BI, SharePoint, Power Point, Excel, Word and MS Teams experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing permitting, regulatory approvals, and commitments to customers and communities preferred.
  • PMP / CAPM certification, PE license, CUSP or other relevant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic, complex electric capital construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring safe delivery within scope, schedule, and budget, while proactively mitigating risks and optimizing value.
  • Ensure compliance with internal Major Projects Business Management System (BMS) requirements and lead early project development activities, including options evaluations and economic analyses.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional project teams including contractors, to deliver to specifications with minimal disruptions; manage siting, permitting, regulatory approvals/cost recovery, and customer/community commitments; oversee contract administration including change order review/approval and cost controls.
  • Provide clear and concise project status communication and presentations to senior leaders.
  • Lead continuous improvement of project management processes, methodologies, and tools; provide guidance to junior project managers and support emergency storm restoration during weather events.
