About The Position

The Lead Project Engineer provides technical support for new products from order receipt through successful handover to production. The role supports the Commercial Group and customers with new opportunities, assembles and manages cross-disciplinary teams, and coordinates project timing and milestones to meet customer expectations. The position works with production, quality, tooling, equipment, and Operations teams to ensure new jobs are production-ready. The job is based at the Youngstown Manufacturing Headquarters in Youngstown, Ohio, with some travel required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Exposure to project management principles.
• Skills with Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and Inventor.
• Ability to stand for long periods and sit for long periods.
• Ability to use small tools and lift 50 pounds.
• Competencies in teamwork, initiative, professionalism, analytical thinking, communication, and decision-making/problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Group and customers with new opportunities from order placement through successful handover to production.
• Assemble and manage cross-disciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery and meet customer expectations.
• Manage project timing, milestones, and related activities.
• Facilitate teamwork with production, quality, tooling, equipment, and other team members.
• Coordinate with the Operations Group on new tooling start-ups to ensure jobs are production-ready.
• Identify, resolve, and escalate issues that may affect project timing.
• Initiate Engineering Change Notices when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
