Lead, Project Engineer
About The Position
Project Engineering is the art of creating order out of chaos and providing precise technical direction with a clear vision for your engineering team to focus on and execute. As a Project Engineer, you will get the unique opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team developing technologies and innovative product solutions across the Integrated Vision Solutions Sector. You will be responsible for the Engineering execution of assigned projects, providing overall management of complex product development projects through all phases of the product lifecycle. Success in this role requires a willingness to make decisions and drive the project teams to the required capability and delivery, and the ability to communicate internally to leadership and externally to customer and suppliers. The Project Engineer must work in a collaborative team environment with all functions within the organization to develop and execute sound product development projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in Project Engineering.
- Experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including cost and schedule generation and management
- Experience with bids and proposals

Responsibilities
- Work with program management and technical teams to develop the program execution schedule, effectively communicate with the entire program team, and monitor progress and guide the team through the execution of all required tasking.
- Coordinate the Engineering proposal content by identifying Engineering scope, partnering with functional leaders on Basis of Estimates, and reviewing the bid with the Engineering Leadership team.
- Effectively communicate with external customers and internal senior leadership on program plans, status, and issues.
- Lead the engineering team through product design gates (System Requirements Review, Prelimary and Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Review) ensuring design aligns with engineering standards, compliance requirements and manufacturability expectations.
- Partner with operations, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing engineering to ensure seamless production transition.
