This role involves leading and supervising a team of Estimators in preparing construction cost estimates for buildings and other structures. The position also includes planning and participating in the preparation of these estimates, as well as preparing and reviewing cost estimates for grant applications. The Lead Project Cost Estimator will check and compare estimates from architects and engineers, negotiate preliminary construction costs, and conduct studies on bid variations. Responsibilities also include checking contract cost segregations, analyzing change orders, establishing procedures for plan approval and bidding, and developing methods for tracking estimated versus actual costs. The role also involves conducting seminars, estimating property damage costs, establishing budgets, and providing support for negotiations and claim analysis.
