We are seeking a Production Lead to oversee daily production, lead a team, and ensure alignment with production needs, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Above average communication skills with the ability to effectively give written and verbal direction.
  • Basic computer/data entry skills.
  • Ability to operate equipment in the event of an operator absence.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow written and/or verbal directions, work instructions, etc.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic mathematics such as addition/subtraction/multiplication/division problems.
  • Able to visually inspect meat, equipment, and parts.
  • Able to analyze information and evaluate results to problem solve equipment and production issues.
  • Ability to identify visual defects and make correction as needed and identify and distinguish between colors.
  • Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and adhere to JSA guidelines.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Quality Culture.
  • Follow daily set up and/or shutdown procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Understanding, following and enforcing the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Showing initiative by communicating and working with other departments to resolve production issues.
  • Training new and existing associates.
  • Promotes a positive labor relations environment in the facility.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining the department’s work schedule.
  • Understand and follow the Production Schedule making sure all orders are completed to customer specification.
  • Maintains daily finished goods inventory tie out with Distribution department using the Canopy system.
  • Meets all customer and regulatory labeling on finished goods.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP’s and general instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of process and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment.
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall daily production.
  • Lead a group of people and ensure job tasks and assignments align with overall daily production needs.
  • Lead team members to meet daily production targets while meeting people safety and food safety expectations.
  • Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolve immediate issues.
  • Partner with Maintenance to resolve issues where needed.
  • Partner with Quality to address issues that are out of specification.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules.
  • Lead team members to identify, manage, and execute the plant’s process improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Manage and own various functions of the business and create an engaged and team-oriented workforce to improve business results.
  • Ensure headcount is at budgeted levels.
  • Own people safety, food safety, cost execution, meeting the production schedule, and morale of the team.
  • Monitor production to ensure that food safety, quality, productivity, and cost standards are met.
  • Provide employee training to ensure employees are performing job responsibilities effectively.
  • Enforce plant rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Evaluate subordinate performance, communicate with employees, and provide coaching for work performance improvement.
  • Participate in the support of plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, confined space entry, etc.
  • Work with other Leads and give and seek support to meet targets.
  • Promote, adhere, and be responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
  • Has demonstrated the proven ability to lead others in a positive manner to meet quality and production standards.
  • Has a strong presence on the production floor to support the line and team.
