About The Position

The Lead Production Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing and coordinating the day-to-day plant maintenance functions on their shift. This role involves providing supervision for the Production Technicians, ensuring maintenance operating efficiencies, safety, housekeeping, and quality workmanship. The Lead Production Maintenance Technician will serve as the primary contact with the Production Supervisors to coordinate work with maintenance staff on duty, execute preventive maintenance programs, and effectively coordinate maintenance activities with production, warehouse, and quality departments. This role also provides support to the leadership team and employees at the site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or GED.
  • Two or more years related experience in Mechatronics or a food grade facility.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all Production Technicians on their scheduled shifts.
  • Coordinates maintenance workers by scheduling repairs, and planning maintenance and installation activities.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Identifies the training needs of shift personnel in all aspects of their jobs consistent with established operating procedures.
  • Ensures safety in the workplace by eliminating unsafe conditions and unsafe employee behaviors.
  • Protects Company assets by the direct intervention of any condition resulting in the abuse of equipment or buildings.
  • Executes the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the maintenance staff.
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Participates in the planning of new installations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of maintenance staff.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Assists maintenance staff in solving equipment problems.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Shift Differential: $2.00/hour shift differential offered for working 12-hour night shift on 2-2-3 pattern.
