Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product management experience and current Lead- or Group-level scope; experience owning a video area rather than a single feature.
  • At least 3 years at a company whose product is video, such as streaming, playback, recording, a VMS, real-time video, or video infrastructure.
  • More than one shipped product used by an outside user to watch live video, play back, record, or export video.

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar quantitative field.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, California.

Responsibilities

  • Own cloud backup and clip export, including retention, backup product scope, and reliable clip delivery.
  • Own reliable, high-quality streaming under challenging conditions, including multiple viewers, limited site bandwidth or LTE connections, and cameras recording while cloud connectivity is unavailable.
  • Own third-party video ingested via RTSP for playback in different formats and clients.
  • Own transcoding decisions for recorded video, including when to transcode, cost, and failure rates.
  • Own customer-controlled encryption for stored and exported video, with customers holding the keys.
  • Set engineering quality standards for playback, framing, and cloud backups.
  • Identify and resolve customer issues proactively using core Quality of Service performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with sales, support, go-to-market, design, and engineering to deliver revenue-driving video products.
