Lead Product Manager, Multi-User Platform

Gen DigitalNew York, NY

About The Position

Gen Digital is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the identity and entitlement platform that governs how individuals and households are represented across Gen's various consumer brands. This is a critical, foundational role where you will define the structure for members, roles, and access, and develop the architecture enabling multiple product teams to leverage this platform instead of duplicating efforts. You will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, and brand product teams, translating complex technical trade-offs into a simple, secure, and enduring system. This position is ideal for individuals who excel at systems thinking, can produce clear requirements for engineering teams to execute independently, and can foster alignment across teams without direct authority.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of product management experience.
  • Meaningful experience owning platform or infrastructure products, such as identity, entitlements, licensing, or access management. Consumer feature work alone is not sufficient.
  • Strong technical fluency, including comfort with API contracts and data models, and the ability to reason about platform decisions with long-term consequences.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving cross-functional alignment across teams without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of writing clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences and presenting confidently to senior stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building a platform capability that was adopted by multiple product teams or business units beyond your own.
  • Background specifically in identity, access management, or entitlement/licensing systems.
  • Experience operating in a multi-brand or multi-business-unit company, navigating competing priorities across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the requirements for the shared identity and entitlement model, including how members, roles, and access are defined and how this structure scales.
  • Make platform decisions that influence other teams' development, recognizing the long-term impact of early choices.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap that balances technical feasibility, cross-team demand, and future extensibility.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and multiple product teams, each with distinct priorities and contexts.
  • Facilitate cross-team alignment discussions, determining when to escalate issues versus resolve them, and ensuring progress without direct control over all involved teams.
  • Write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) that engineering teams can use for development with minimal follow-up on edge cases.
  • Resolve open architectural decisions to prevent future roadblocks.
  • Clearly communicate platform strategy and trade-offs to diverse audiences, including engineers and senior leadership.
  • Produce concise written materials, such as specifications, strategy memos, and executive updates, that are easily understood and actionable.
