About The Position

Carvana is a rapidly growing, technology-driven automotive retailer. This role is for a Lead Product Manager to lead multiple product managers within Carvana's Inventory and ADESA product teams. These teams own the systems and processes for efficiently turning acquired vehicles into sale-ready inventory across Carvana's network of Inspection Centers and ADESA auctions. The team's scope includes reconditioning workflow, labor forecasting, vehicle quality standards, inventory management, and lot operations. The long-term goal is to automate the reconditioning process using AI and machine learning. This position requires a data-centric product leader to lead and develop product managers accountable for product roadmaps. The role involves working closely with various departments including General Managers, Operations, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Procurement, Engineering, and Decision Support Sciences (DSS). It is a hands-on, floor-facing role requiring meaningful time spent in Inspection Centers and ADESA Auctions to understand operator needs and shape software and processes. The ideal candidate will have empathy for operators, be comfortable in a lean manufacturing environment, and be energized by data-heavy problems related to labor, cycle time reduction, and quality across multiple locations.

  • Ability to learn and absorb technical concepts and communicate them effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Deep product experience at one or more highly successful and ideally high-growth companies.
  • Strong opinions about internal and operational products, with product taste calibrated to the needs of technicians, shop managers, lot operations crews, and operations teams.
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes for the sake of the team and our customers.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of humor and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
