About The Position

We looking for a Lead Product Designer to own end-to-end design execution across key product areas of the Vcheck platform while managing and developing a product design team based in Pune, India. This is a player-coach role at the center of a major business transformation as Vcheck transitions from a traditional, service-based model to a high-growth digital platform. The Lead Product Designer will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and executive leadership to define and drive design strategy, deliver high-quality production-ready work, and build the team and processes needed to scale design as a function. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, strong at presenting to senior stakeholders, and ready to lead both the work and the people.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex digital products, particularly web and large-screen applications
• Experience managing or leading designers in a formal people management or player-coach capacity
• Deep expertise in Figma and modern design tooling
• Strong strategic thinking paired with exceptional visual design craft
• Experience building, evolving, or governing a design system
• Demonstrated ability to conduct user research and translate findings into design decisions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort presenting to senior leadership
• Experience working in fast-paced, evolving environments with ambiguity and shifting priorities

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with distributed or offshore teams preferred
• Background in financial services, due diligence, compliance, or B2B SaaS valued
• Experience at a company undergoing a services-to-technology transformation helpful
• Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Define and drive design vision and strategy across the platform, aligned with business goals and user needs
• Act as the primary design partner for Product Managers, Engineering leads, and internal stakeholders
• Present and defend design solutions and strategy to executive leadership, tying design decisions to business outcomes
• Deliver production-ready designs with high standards for visual quality and attention to detail
• Own end-to-end design from research and discovery through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity deliverables
• Evolve and govern the platform-wide design system for consistency, accessibility, and efficiency
• Plan and conduct user research including interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions
• Produce comprehensive design documentation including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and engineering specs
• Manage, mentor, and develop the product design team in Pune, India, including 1:1s, goal setting, feedback, and career growth
• Establish and maintain design team processes, standards, and quality benchmarks across geographies
• Coordinate cross-timezone collaboration to keep design output consistent and aligned with product priorities
• Performs other duties as assigned
