Lead Product Designer
About The Position
Hi, we’re Search Atlas! We’re a rapidly growing SEO software company and full-service digital agency that helps websites improve their Google performance. From Fortune 500 companies to Silicon Valley startups, our clients trust us to drive results. We're seeking a Lead Product Designer to serve as the senior design leader responsible for overseeing our design team and driving overall design strategy and execution. This is a strategic leadership role that balances team management, design process optimization, and hands-on design work. You’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership and the broader product team to ensure design excellence across all initiatives while mentoring and developing high-performing designers. This role is based in San Francisco. We are opening our SF office in the coming weeks - and we'll be operating as a hybrid work model.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a design leader or senior designer managing teams
- Expert proficiency in Figma (prototyping and wireframing)
- Experience with Claude for design collaboration
- Strong understanding of research and testing methodologies
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Mixpanel, Clarity)
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities
- Startup experience with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities
Responsibilities
- Oversee and mentor the design team, fostering their professional development
- Optimize design processes and workflows for maximum efficiency and quality
- Plan and prioritize design projects in alignment with business objectives
- Track project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain design documentation and assets for team accessibility
- Contribute hands-on design work including prototype development in Figma
- Create wireframes and design specifications using Figma and Claude
- Conduct and support focus group sessions and user research initiatives
- Collaborate with Product team on discovery sessions
- Stay current with design trends and industry best practices
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic design initiatives
- Work closely with the Product team to align design with business goals
- Communicate design decisions and rationale across the organization
