Mojo is a digital mortgage broker aiming to be the UK's largest and most disruptive, backed by Uswitch, Money, Confused, and Zoopla. This is a permanent, senior individual-contributor role focused on owning and directing a significant area of the product. The work involves navigating two complex worlds: the customer's mortgage journey and the internal software used by experts. High-impact work often lies at the intersection of these, where internal changes can significantly reshape customer experiences. This role is for someone who thrives on untangling complex, operational, and commercially sensitive problems, rather than just polishing user interfaces. The position requires setting standards through personal work and elevating other designers. Collaboration will be direct with operational leaders, Heads of Mortgages, Protection, Case Management, and the Ops Director, rather than a traditional Product Manager. The role demands creating direction without waiting for a brief, owning the design vision for a specific area, and being accountable for its implementation. Responsibilities include working across the customer mortgage journey, internal Salesforce-based tooling, and reporting/data visualization. A key aspect is setting the craft standard, with shipped work serving as a benchmark for quality. Strategic use of AI in team processes (e.g., using Claude Code for prototypes, dashboards, and design systems) and in customer-facing features is crucial. The role also involves shaping and stewarding the growing design system.
