About The Position

The Lead Process Estimator will take ownership of estimating complex water and wastewater treatment projects, with a particular focus on self-performed piping and equipment scopes. This role requires a strong understanding of process systems and the ability to develop accurate pricing for projects where treatment facilities must remain operational during construction. Approximately 90% of current work is hard bid, while the company is actively expanding its design-build capabilities. The successful candidate will have a direct influence on how the company prices and wins technically demanding projects while helping shape the development of its design-build practice.

Requirements

  • Strong estimating background in process piping and equipment, ideally within water/wastewater treatment.
  • Practical understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant operations.
  • Experience estimating bypass, phased construction, and work on active/live systems.
  • Ability to estimate both hard-bid and design-build projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and constructability.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with field, engineering, project management, and ownership teams.
  • Must be located within a reasonable distance of East Central Pennsylvania and able to visit the office approximately once per month.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate self-performed piping and equipment scopes for water and wastewater projects.
  • Develop bypass strategies and pricing for work involving active process systems.
  • Account for costs associated with maintaining plant operations during construction.
  • Prepare estimates for hard-bid projects.
  • Support design-build pursuits with early-stage pricing and constructability input.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to understand existing systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to identify sequencing and operational challenges.
  • Develop pricing strategies for phased construction and live-system work.

Benefits

  • Up to $150,000-$160,000 base salary, depending on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity.
  • Remote work flexibility.
  • Monthly office visit rather than daily office requirements.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in expanding the company's design-build capabilities.
  • Significant technical and leadership impact within a growing organization.
  • Direct involvement in complex water and wastewater treatment projects.
