About The Position
The Learning Experience – Hell's Kitchen is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Preschool Teacher to guide their preschool classroom. This role involves creating engaging learning experiences, helping children develop confidence, curiosity, and foundational skills for kindergarten and beyond. The Lead Preschool Teacher will mentor the classroom team, build strong partnerships with families, and foster a positive environment where every child feels supported and excited to learn.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or High School Diploma with at least five years of relevant early childhood experience
- Previous experience leading a preschool classroom preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent leadership, classroom management, and communication skills
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Must meet all applicable New York State and New York City childcare licensing requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead a preschool classroom using The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that support kindergarten readiness
- Foster children's literacy, math, science, creativity, and social-emotional development through hands-on learning
- Create a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom where children can thrive
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers while promoting teamwork and classroom consistency
- Observe children's developmental progress and communicate regularly with families
- Maintain compliance with all New York State and New York City licensing regulations and health and safety standards
- Collaborate with center leadership to uphold the highest standards of educational excellence
