About The Position

CWCC, Inc. is seeking a Lead Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join their team. This role involves developing and executing individual education plans for children aged 3-5 years old, ensuring a safe and educational learning environment, and leading a teaching team. CWCC offers two educational advancement options, fully covered by the company: a Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality learning environment that incorporates evidence-based curriculum and instructional activities.
  • Meet with the Early Learning Coordinator weekly to review classroom and child data.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled trainings for ongoing professional development.
  • Provide an enhanced curriculum focused on social-emotional development, early language and literacy, and physical development.
  • Self-reflect on teaching practices and develop a continuous improvement plan.
  • Implement Creative Curriculum for the Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten classroom.
  • Positively engage with children and use appropriate Conscious Discipline methods.
  • Perform duties with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Meet with the assistant teacher and aide to review lesson plans, individual child goals, and assign teaching practices.
  • Complete and submit required forms, including lesson plans, portfolios, assessments, observations, and transition plans.
  • Provide ongoing observations and assessment of each child.
  • Maintain documentation of each child’s progress and growth using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
  • Review assessment results and interpret information to identify areas of need within the classroom.
  • Conduct two parent-teacher conferences annually to discuss child development and progress.
  • Develop educational goals with parents and update as needed.
  • Work with parents during transition times to develop individualized transition goals.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through parent meetings, daily sheets, etc.
  • Interpret the school program to parents to strengthen their understanding of the child’s needs and the importance of an early learning environment.
  • Attend staff and parent meetings, and school district coalition meetings as requested.
  • Complete daily cleaning duties in cooperation with other staff.
  • Carry out routine duties such as toileting, hand washing, clean-up, and supervision of children at all times.
  • Ensure classroom materials, furniture, and supplies are properly maintained.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by center administration.
