General Functions: Under the direction of the Early Learning Center Childcare Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a quality program that is within the guidelines set forth by the center and all governing bodies.

Requirements

Minimum of an associate's degree in early childhood development or related field.
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a childcare setting
Must have a satisfactory background check per NY Statewide Central Register Database and NYS Justice Center standards.

Day Shift (Required)

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a developmentally age-appropriate preschool program.
Create a classroom environment in accordance with goals and philosophy.
Builds children’s esteem and provides a secure, safe environment.
Follow the given curriculum that promotes literacy and pre-kindergarten readiness skills
Lead, manage, and delegate tasks in the classroom-to-classroom staff as appropriate.
Communicates effectively with parents
Ensures classrooms and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe.
Provides Monthly newsletter detailing weekly activities and curriculum to parents.
