About The Position

The Lead Practice Growth Director plays a critical leadership role in advancing enterprise-wide delivery and execution of practice management, teaming, and succession with our advisors and teams. In addition to performing the core responsibilities of a Practice Growth Director, this role serves as a player-coach, providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship to other Practice Growth Directors. The Lead guides the development and execution of scalable practice growth strategies, partnering closely with field leadership and Centers of Excellence to strengthen teaming, succession readiness, and sustainable advisor practices management. This role contributes to strategy development and drives consistent execution that results in exceptional advisor outcomes and client experiences.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience coaching financial advisors, with demonstrated success supporting team-based and experienced advisor practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop peer leaders while expanding coaching capacity and influence.
  • Deep expertise in practice management, including client service models, teaming, staffing strategies, succession planning, and revenue-sharing structures.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Power BI, and organizational tools and capabilities (such as the Advisor Loan Program, Entity, Team Compensation, Advisor Readiness Program) with the ability to model and promote effective usage.
  • Ability to present to and facilitate large and small groups, driving advisor adoption and behavioral change.
  • Professional designation or history of significant progress toward achievement preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days.
  • State insurance licensed and appointed in life, health, and variable lines of authority or obtained within 90 days.
  • State securities registered and insurance licensed and appointed in all states that comprise the assigned region.
  • Satisfactory background check and clean compliance record.
  • Flexibility to travel (will include overnight) and conduct business during evening hours.

  • Guide the strategic direction for Practice Growth Directors, ensuring alignment with senior field leadership and Centers of Excellence to drive consistent execution of practice growth initiatives across assigned regions.
  • Serve as a player-coach, providing hands-on mentorship, coaching, and development support to Practice Growth Directors while actively supporting complex, high-impact advisor practices.
  • Offer frequent coaching, feedback, and guidance to elevate team capability, effectiveness, and influence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drives consistency in practice growth coaching by developing and reinforcing common frameworks, tools, and best practices across core advisor capabilities, such as entity structure, team composition, staffing and capacity models, capital and loan program utilization, and succession planning, ensuring coaching approaches are aligned, measurable, and consistently applied across regions.
  • Drive growth in advisor total sales, productivity, teaming, and practice capacity, with accountability for measurable improvements in experienced advisor practices.
  • Lead and influence practice management strategies, including teaming models, succession planning, staffing strategies, revenue-sharing structures, and long-term practice sustainability.
  • Partner closely with Group Vice Presidents, Area Vice Presidents, and Market Directors to identify target practices and/or advisor segments, align priorities, and embed practice growth strategies into local business plans.
  • Collaborate with Virtual Advice, Advice, Wholesaling, Teaming, Succession, Joint Field Work, and Advisor Growth teams to ensure consistent use of organizational programs, tools, and policies.
  • Coach advisors and teams to practice management, leadership, teaming, succession, and capacity growth, resulting in increased productivity, sales, and client acquisition.
  • Support advisor retention, recruiting, and capacity expansion efforts by influencing team formation, sourcing talent, and strengthening the long-term viability of advisor practices.
  • Assist the Director of Advisor Practice Coaching in recruiting, developing, and sustaining a high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization.
