Lead Power Electronics Hardware Engineer

GE VernovaImperial, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Responsible for simulating and designing electrical, thermal, and mechanical aspects of Power Electronics Converters for various industrial applications. Specify electrical and mechanical components, collaborate closely with the Design Office and Manufacturing teams, and create comprehensive product documentation, including manufacturing and commissioning instructions. Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate low- and medium- voltage power electronics. Design new Voltage Source Inverters (IGBT or SiC) and Thyristor converters (Rectifier LCI), while ensuring high performance and reliability in challenging environments. Develop control algorithms using the P80i software platform. Conduct simulations using tools like MATLAB, SIMULINK, PLECS, and PSPICE. Apply expertise in MW-scale converter design and electrical drives to impact departmental operations and contribute to key planning and execution.
