About The Position

Mauna Kea Resort is seeking to hire a Lead Pool & Pond Tender to join their Grounds & Golf team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of pools, ponds, and spas, including chemical treatment, minor repairs, and inventory management. The Lead Pool & Pond Tender will also train other tenders and ensure all facilities are in optimal condition before guest or homeowner arrival. The resort emphasizes creating a positive hospitality environment with strong employee values and relationships.

Requirements

  • Must be able to swim
  • Driver’s license required to operate company utility vehicles
  • Certified Pool & Spa Operator
  • Pond Aquaculture certification
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload
  • Able to stand and walk during most of shift
  • Able to train and direct other employees
  • Climb in and out of pools, ponds, and spas
  • Carry tools and equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Effective written and oral communication with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to work shift and days set by the Manager
  • Must be able to work over 40 hours per week as needed

Responsibilities

  • Testing and chemical treatment of pools, ponds, spas, etc.
  • Inventory of chemicals and informing manager of re-order needs.
  • Performing minor repairs to filters and pumps.
  • Training pool and pond tenders on proper cleaning and safety protocols.
  • Checking pools, ponds, spas, heaters, and pumps to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
  • Performing the duties of the pool and pond tender when needed.
  • Reporting concerns or irregularities to the manager.
  • Recording information on chemicals and supplies used for client charges.
  • Monitoring and maintaining necessary inventory pars of supplies and chemicals.
  • Visually inspecting pool, spa, and pond water levels.
  • Completing tasks on a checklist.
  • Checking pump/heater, and cleanliness of pools, ponds, spas, etc. prior to homeowner/guest arrival.
  • Performing duties following safety procedures and policies.
  • Completing assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in special projects.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Securing the entrance to the property upon leaving.
  • Maintaining precise records of supplies and chemicals used at each residence.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Assisting other positions in the department as needed.
  • Ensuring all equipment is returned at the end of the day in proper working condition.
