We’re seeking a Lead Platform Administrator. This role oversees enterprise data and analytics platform operations, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and alignment with business goals. This role provides technical and people leadership across a platform ecosystem that includes cloud data platforms, analytics services, and containerized compute environments.

Requirements

  • 6 years of relevant experience required
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Degree in computer science preferred
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data, analytics, and compute platforms, including cloud data services, analytics tools, and Kubernetes environments.
  • Ability to define and enforce platform standards for security, governance, automation, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading DevOps and platform engineering practices, including infrastructure‑as‑code and environment lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud cost management, scalability, and reliability engineering.
  • Ability to evaluate and guide adoption of emerging platform technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud data platform compute, clusters, and workloads; ensure platform scalability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and enforce platform administration policies and procedures; align capabilities with business goals in partnership with leadership.
  • Provide escalated support and troubleshooting; oversee data governance, access control, and catalog services, including external access controls such as service principals, SQL warehouses, Delta Sharing, and equivalent platform capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of infrastructure, user management, and external access processes, review documentation quality.
  • Oversee creation of monitoring queries/dashboards; enforce tagging and naming standards; review cluster health and best‑practice compliance.
  • Ensure regular backups/recovery and recurring privilege reviews; stay current on Databricks/cloud trends.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership providing coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Define and enforce platform DevOps standards, including CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, environment promotion, and automated compliance controls across the platform ecosystem.
