About The Position

Daniels Health is seeking a Lead Plant Operator who excels in a fast-paced setting, enjoying a blend of leadership and hands-on operational tasks. This is not a desk-based supervisory role. As a working team lead, you will actively support plant operations while guiding, training, and motivating the team to meet production, safety, and quality objectives. You will lead by example, working alongside your team to unload trucks, operate equipment, process medical waste, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the facility runs efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who appreciates variety, takes ownership, and can confidently handle both leadership and operational duties.

Requirements

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a strong commitment to supporting your team.
  • Previous experience in a lead, crew lead, or team lead capacity preferred.
  • Experience working in a hands-on, labor-intensive, warehouse, manufacturing, transportation, or industrial environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot practical problems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced operation.
  • Comfortable leading others while remaining actively involved in daily tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Understanding of safety procedures, employee processes, and operational best practices.
  • A focus on quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-shift lead, coordinating daily production activities and helping ensure operational goals are achieved.
  • Coach, train, and support team members and new hires to promote safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Support the Plant Supervisor with daily operations, staffing priorities, and additional operational needs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers to maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility.
  • Verify incoming materials, containers, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare, stage, and process customer orders for transportation.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Load autoclaves and assist with the treatment of medical waste.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production challenges and participate in root cause analysis when issues arise.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready facility at all times.
  • Drive high standards of quality and attention to detail throughout the operation.
  • Monitor resources, workflows, and production schedules to maximize efficiency.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational costs.
