Requirements

  • Experience teaching group Pilates classes using various apparatus.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective group reformer instruction and add TRX, Barre, and Trigger Point modalities to teaching repertoire.
  • Ability to offer exercise modification to students when needed to remain safe and provide a challenging and enjoyable experience.
  • Energetic, positive, and motivational teaching style.
  • Capable of using a contemporary approach to classical exercises.
  • Punctual, reliable, and dedicated.
  • Desire to build a successful business in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Knowledge of proper and safe use of prop equipment to include hand weights, TRX, Magic Circle, glider disc, Trigger point roller and ball, along with TheraBand.
  • Focus on customer service, including professional and effective communication skills.
  • Experience with club management software and/or the ability to learn new systems (e.g., Club Ready).
  • Willingness to evolve with new developments in the fitness industry, specifically Pilates.
  • Passion for learning and willingness to attend continued education trainings and seminars.
  • Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgment.
  • Professional, punctual, reliable and neat with effective communication skills.
  • Pleasant demeanor with excellent customer service skills, comfortable in public speaking setting, and ability to sell Private Training and/or support membership sales.
  • Trustworthy and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current full apparatus Pilates Certification with 450 hours of experience or equivalent.
  • Current CPR/AED training or willingness to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Pilates, preferably at Club Pilates.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective group classes and private training in accordance with Club Pilates guidelines and expectations.
  • Model instructional standards and support the General Manager by helping ensure all instructional staff follow brand requirements.
  • Keep instructors informed of updates so they can continue to provide safe, effective, and enjoyable classes.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Club Pilates, embodying and promoting the values and mission of the studio.
  • Participate in monthly Lead Instructor conference calls and train staff on discussed topics.
  • Manage the studio schedule, ensuring class types, times, levels, and instructor assignments are optimized to maximize occupancy and client satisfaction.
  • Manage substitute instructor requests and adjust the schedule accordingly.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain all equipment for damage or wear.
  • Work consistently for at least 30 hours each week, with an ideal target of 35 hours.
  • Be available for group classes for a minimum of 15 hours (or four shifts) per week and cover open shifts when necessary.
  • Visually inspect all equipment prior to each class taught to ensure it is in proper working order and safe to use.
  • Provide Pilates instruction, including demo classes, group apparatus classes, and private or semi-private training sessions.
  • Lead up to 12 clients per class or session, ensuring proper form and safe use of equipment such as Reformer, Springboard, Exo-Chair, and hand weights.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Club Pilates education standards.
  • Mentor other instructors to ensure their teaching aligns with Club Pilates standards and methods.
  • Organize workshops provided by Studio Pilates Instructors.
  • Assist with studio revenue growth by promoting membership sales, services, and retail apparel.
  • Serve as a motivating and inspiring force within the studio, promoting the motto: "Do Pilates. Do Life."
  • Maintain honesty and integrity in all professional conduct.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Pilates Studio.
  • May be assigned additional duties as needed to support studio operations.
