About The Position

Mejuri is seeking a Lead Piercer to join their team. This role is responsible for elevating customer service, boosting profitability, and creating a positive environment within the Mejuri Piercing Studio. The Lead Piercer will be knowledgeable about initial piercings, allowable alloys, and will maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene. The position offers opportunities to work with state-of-the-art equipment, collaborate with fellow piercers, and potentially mentor others. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with needle piercing.
  • Experience working with threadless jewelry.
  • Up-to-date First Aid and Blood-borne Pathogens OSHA Certifications.
  • Experience working with an autoclave or statim.
  • Have or be registrable with local law enforcement or meet area requirements for permits such as "Practitioner Registration", Blood-borne Pathogens, First Aid/CPR, Vaccination requirements etc.
  • Understanding of local market piercing law requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols surrounding piercing procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of service excellence in a consumer environment.
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills.
  • The desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the piercing customer journey from start to finish, including greeting, check-in, styling, transaction, and aftercare education.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor to provide the best experience for piercing clients.
  • Act as an ambassador of Mejuri, promoting customer awareness about the brand and its piercing studios.
  • Build a strong clientele in the local market.
  • Communicate insights and opportunities related to piercing products and services to the Store Manager & Store Services.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager on consistent improvements to the flow and process of the Mejuri piercing studio.
  • Collaborate with store staff to update the schedule and online booking service.
  • Explain proper aftercare to each client, including signs of infection and tailored information for specific materials and downsizing.
  • Thoroughly explain service procedures and risks to clients.
  • Identify any medical concerns that may prevent piercing and provide suggested care and information on potential complications.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, upholding expectations on Mejuri’s Steps of Selling to ensure a positive customer experience and promotion of services.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the piercing studio in coordination with the Store Services team and Store Manager.
  • Support inventory management and provide feedback to ensure optimal quantities and assortment of products.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained by following internal standards and local guidelines.
  • Maintain excellent cleanliness of the studio, including sharps and biohazard waste management.
  • Uphold legal compliance in all customer interactions, including verifying identification, requirements, and waivers.
  • Update Store Manager & Store Services Team on all local laws and protocol updates.
  • Remain knowledgeable on Mejuri products and become an expert on the piercing jewelry assortment.
  • Support the check-up and downsizing process for each client.
  • Style, stack, and suggest products for piercing clients, and provide expertise for clients designing their own ear stacks.
  • Build piercing appointment occupancy through promotion, education, and awareness of the piercing studio.
  • Communicate with Store Services to order necessary piercing equipment.
  • Ensure all legislated paperwork and client record-keeping is met and maintained.
