About The Position

ConvenientMD is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner Provider (APP), specifically a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), to serve as a Lead Provider in an urgent care clinic. The role provides patient-centered care, supports efficient clinic operations, and acts as a clinical leader for staff. The Lead Provider mentors new-graduate providers and allied healthcare professionals and collaborates with other providers and healthcare practitioners to coordinate patient care and dispositions, including transfers.

The position includes assessing patients, conducting examinations, reviewing medical histories, ordering or administering diagnostic tests and interpreting results, performing therapeutic procedures, and educating and counseling patients. It also requires maintaining accurate electronic medical records, following safety and infection-control practices, complying with applicable legal and professional requirements, and maintaining professional knowledge through continuing education and precepting.

The hourly pay range is $68–$85. Providers may also earn productivity-based incentives tied to visits per shift and aligned with quality standards. ConvenientMD describes a collaborative team environment and offers benefits and other employee programs.

Requirements

• Master's degree and certification by a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) certifying body.
• Maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; CPR, ACLS, and online-only classes are not accepted.
• Strong leadership skills and willingness and ability to mentor provider and non-provider clinic staff.
• Collaborative team skills.
• Proactive and confident written and verbal communication, including raising concerns and using professional directness with colleagues and patients.
• Compassionate, authentic, patient-focused approach, with kindness and understanding toward others.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR).
• Strong knowledge of customer and personal service principles and processes, including assessing customer needs, meeting service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state rules relevant to medical practices.
• Strong knowledge of relevant drugs, their chemical composition, structure, properties, and transformations.
• Strong knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their uses, and their relevance to patient care.
• Strong knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

• Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or an ambulatory care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments and physical examinations, and review patient medical histories to address short- and long-term needs.
• Interview patients and obtain, update, and study medical histories.
• Administer or order diagnostic tests, including x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, and interpret test results.
• Administer injections and immunizations; suture; and manage wounds and infections.
• Educate and counsel patients about health, therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, and wellness.
• Prepare clear, complete, accurate, and legible medical records; type, edit, and electronically sign notes, reports, and records in the EMR in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and state procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies and protocols.
• Comply with legal and professional requirements, keep informed about legislation, enforce applicable requirements, and advise management on needed actions.
• Collaborate with providers and healthcare practitioners to treat patients and plan timely, coordinated dispositions, including transfers.
• Act as a clinic leader, especially when the Practice Manager is not in the clinic.
• Support and mentor new-graduate providers and other clinic staff.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, personal networks, and professional societies.
• Precept new provider staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
