Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age or older
- CPR certification
Nice To Haves
- Major in Kinesiology
- Physical Therapy Technician Certification
- Prior experience or knowledge as a physical therapy technician
- Interest in the field of physical therapy
Responsibilities
- Train and mentor new therapy technicians.
- Participate in staff meetings to enhance the learning and team environment.
- Participate and assist in planning of technician meetings.
- Coordinate therapy technician schedules, including time off requests.
- Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities.
- Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff.
- Demonstrate correct activity form or function.
- Observe patients during various physical activities designed in the treatment plan, compile progress on patients’ response to treatment.
- Communicate patient progress and reactions to treatment effectively to the physical therapist.
