About The Position

This is an internal-only position for the School Year 26-27. The Lead teacher will be responsible for planning and facilitating monthly meetings, including professional development activities, and curriculum development based on Society of Health and Physical Educators standards. They will also manage and maintain high school equipment such as Project Adventure, the weight room, and physical education supplies, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and proper use. The Equipment Lead will collaborate with the Coordinator on the CHS PE budget and ordering supplies. Additional duties may be assigned by the principal and coordinator. Responsibilities may extend beyond the regular school day/year, and the candidate must be available for monthly department meetings at 2:35 PM.

Requirements

Experienced and licensed teacher in the respective discipline area.
Demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.
Familiar with Project Adventure training and able to become certified.

Responsibilities

Plan and facilitate monthly high school based and district department meetings that will include professional development activities.
Plan professional development activities for Professional Development Days, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, Early Release Days, new teacher orientation sessions as needed and summer curriculum development using Society of Health and Physical Educators standards.
Maintain high school equipment including but not limited to Project Adventure, weight room, and physical education supplies for safety, cleanliness and proper use.
Work with the Coordinator on developing CHS PE budget and ordering all daily PE supplies and equipment.
Perform additional duties as determined by the principal and coordinator.
Be available at the High School for monthly department meetings at 2:35 PM.
