About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our Affirming Care Pharmacy team in San Antonio, TX. Reporting to our Pharmacy Manager, the Lead Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for prescription fulfillment, upholding a high-level of patient support, and supporting inventory management and 340B compliance. In this role, you’ll make an impact by: Supporting Contract Pharmacy Operations & Inventory Executing the end-to-end prescription process: preparing, filling, labelling, dispensing, packaging and shipping Closely monitoring, ordering, and organizing medication supplies to ensure zero stock-outs and minimal waste Overseeing inventory cycles to ensure all stock is accounted for across various replenishment contracts Conducting regular internal audits of prescriptions and inventory records to ensure operational integrity and 340B compliance Generating and analyzing operational reports to monitor pharmacy performance, inventory turnover, and fulfillment accuracy Driving Patient Support & Satisfaction Providing a high standard of care across phone, email, and secure messaging, ensuring every patient interaction is handled with empathy and precision Navigating insurance challenges with patients and proactively identifying solutions, including but not limited to completing prior authorizations Overseeing the maintenance of patient profiles and internal databases to ensure data accuracy

Requirements

  • A license as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (in good standing) with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • 3+ years of experience in community, mail-order, or contract pharmacy operations
  • Proven experience in inventory management, including ordering, reconciliation, and auditing of medication supplies
  • Knowledge and efficiency of all aspects of pharmacy software (data entry, billing, report generating, and troubleshooting)
  • A strong sense of autonomy, urgency, and close attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including potentially weekends and evenings
  • Enjoyment in performing a variety of tasks daily and a fast-paced work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the 340B program
  • Experience working with PioneerRx
  • Fluency in Spanish

Responsibilities
