About The Position

The Value-Added Services (VAS) Lead is responsible for coordinating the daily execution of Value-Added Services warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, material storage, inventory accuracy, material availability, and shipping support. This role leads the daily activities of receiving associates, Clamp Truck Operators, and High Reach Operators to ensure materials are received, accurately tracked, stored, and available to support customer production requirements while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient operation. Leads by example by promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement while fostering collaboration across Receiving, Inventory Control, Shipping, Transportation, and Value-Added Services to ensure effective communication and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution center, warehouse, logistics, or inventory operations, including at least 2 years in a lead or team coordination role.
  • Experience in receiving, inventory control, material handling, and shipping operations.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
  • Experience operating and coordinating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), including Clamp Trucks and High Reach Forklifts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and support the development of warehouse associates.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments while maintaining a strong customer service mindset.
  • Ability to lift, move, and work in a warehouse environment and obtain certification to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), as required.

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the receipt of inbound trucks containing VAS materials, display components, pallets, and packaging supplies.
  • Verify inbound shipments against carrier documentation, investigate discrepancies, and ensure packing lists are provided to the Material Coordinators within 24 hours.
  • Ensure materials are accurately received into the WMS, assigned to the appropriate storage locations, and put away according to established procedures.
  • Coordinate material staging and availability to support production schedules and customer orders.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and inventory accuracy throughout receiving and storage activities.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receiving, inventory transactions, storage practices, and product identification.
  • Coordinate weekly cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Provide inventory accuracy and cycle count results to Material Coordinators.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers to other distribution centers, including shipment quantities, dimensions, weights, staging, and shipping readiness.
  • Ensure material availability to support production schedules while minimizing operational interruptions.
  • Monitor daily operational performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Lead, assign, coach, and develop Clamp Truck Operators, High Reach Operators, Inventory Control associates, and other assigned personnel.
  • Prioritize daily workload to support customer commitments, production schedules, and operational objectives.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and associate development while reinforcing standard operating procedures, teamwork, operational flexibility, and business continuity.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with company safety policies, PIV operating procedures, and warehouse standards.
  • Protect associates, products, materials, equipment, trailers, and warehouse racking through safe operating practices and routine equipment inspections.
  • Maintain organized work areas using 5S principles while identifying operational risks and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate material availability to support production requirements while improving safety, quality, productivity, and service.
