About The Position

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Lead Person to join their team in Grand Prairie, TX. This is a full-time position with a rotating shift schedule. The Lead Person will be responsible for leading and coordinating critical areas of pipe finishing, outlets/specials, and loading. They will ensure safety, quality, and production objectives are met by being a visible presence on the floor with practical experience to reinforce best practices. The role involves developing action plans to meet deadlines, monitoring personnel for adherence to company policies and productivity, and producing a quality product that meets customer expectations while following drawings and job specifications. Communication and training are key aspects, as is maintaining order and striving for zero defects and incidents. The position requires critical thinking and close collaboration with production leaders and engineering.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Leading experience leading a team in the manufacturing or production support process.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. Must be able to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, reaching; the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature, exposure to dust and fumes.
  • Use of ear plugs and other PPE – such as hard hat, steel-toes boots, gloves and safety glasses as required.
  • Must pass Pre-employment Physical and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop action plans in order to meet deadlines and responsibilities.

  • Read blueprints and specifications and be technically proficient
  • Produce a quality product (including quality evaluations) that meets the customers’ expectations while ensuring that drawings and job specifications are followed
  • Performs requirements to satisfy company procedures including administrative requirements
