About The Position

This role is responsible for leading and training a work group, ensuring production quotas are met with accuracy and efficiency, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Lead Person Senior will interpret specifications, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Must pass Madix forklift certification.
  • Ability to safely operate simple hand and power tools such as screw drivers, pliers, cut-off saws, scan guns, etc. and work levers, buttons, and/or foot pedals, use simple gauges and other instruments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, squat, for prolonged periods.
  • Must have manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, work and interact with coworkers, supervisors, and managers on all levels.
  • Strong leadership and multi-tasking ability required.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions/directions and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Ability to recommend and develop new ideas, approaches, or methods that support the department/company.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Advanced knowledge of products and services provided at location.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and quick learner.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to accept new challenges.
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Ability to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, boots, respirators, welding helmets, etc., and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good math skills including fractions and angles required.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure, protractors, and interpret blueprints or simple drawings required.
  • Ability to read and write a must.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or train work group by coordinating, delegating, and checking individuals work.
  • Demonstrate equipment operations, work procedures, and safety procedures.
  • Provide creative leadership and direction to employees to improve operating efficiencies, equipment performance, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Responsible for meeting production quotas with a high rate of accuracy and high level of machine efficiency.
  • Complete work in the time allocated per company labor standards.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, and work orders.
  • Effectively communicate specific instructions to employees in order to meet all requirements.
  • Set up machines and ensure employees perform daily functions as described on MO’s (Material Orders) and Production Schedule.
  • Program computers and electronic instruments such as numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Participate in the assembly and other related items in the completion of products according to work schedule.
  • Exercise quality control by comparing the machine produced product to the product’s blueprints templates, and/or specifications.
  • Perform quality checks by evaluating weight, color, size, shape, and/or texture of product.
  • Measure work pieces to determine accuracy utilizing rulers, templates, or other measuring instruments.
  • Analyze and resolve work related issues.
  • Address and communicate corrective action plans for defective materials, parts, equipment, tools and non-standard assembly work or questionable conditions with employees.
  • Comply with all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Notify Production Supervisor of issues and seek direction as needed.
  • Observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings and alarm signals.
  • Responsible for quantity counts of material and scrap.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of shop, department, and/or work crew.
  • Confer with Supervisor on a regular basis regarding employee performance or other issues that affect the work crew.
  • Suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain accurate information and production records in SAP and RFGEN.
  • Meet KPI’s (key performance indicators) and actively participate in production and safety meetings.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Properly account for materials used.
  • Support a work environment of continuous improvement and lean initiatives that supports the company and its policies.
  • Maintain and improve individual skills by keeping up to date with the latest production and production management concepts.
  • Responsible for keeping track of company tools and equipment.
  • Ensure that machines, tools, and equipment are cleaned and lubricated in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
  • Ensure production floor remains clean and free of debris and spills.
  • Responsible for conducting turnover at shift change to include status of machines, lines, and product.
  • Attend mandatory safety training, refresher courses, self- improvement classes, and be an active participant in lean events as directed by Supervisor.
