About The Position

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is currently recruiting for Lead Payroll Specialist that perform the most complex payroll assignments and/or act as a lead worker in a unit directing workflow, auditing payroll transactions, and reporting for a small staff. Duties may include assigning work to staff, counseling and advising on complex policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining detailed documents (reports, queries, financial, etc.), and monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulations. Requirements

Two and a half (2.5) years full-time of experience performing complex clerical tasks in an office environment which are non-routine in nature and required independent decision making.
Experience must include performing a variety of complex payroll tasks including computer usage, and detail non-routine duties.
Routine clerical tasks, retail sales, and food service experience are NOT considered qualifying experience.
Must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.

Typing/keyboarding 10-key and typing skills are highly desirable.
