About The Position

Under the direction of the supervisor and/or manager, this role directs the work of subordinates in the department. The Lead - Patch & Repair trains and coaches inexperienced employees, checks their work, and maintains stable working relationships. This position assists in establishing and monitoring department goals and objectives, and maintaining current production and line flow.

Requirements

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Must be able to use power tools and related assembly equipment
Must be able to read and understand instructions in assembly operations
Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and requirements
Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns
Ability to speak conversational English
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products
Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity

Responsibilities

Oversee employees within department
Help coordinate production for employees
Assist in training new employees and cross-train employees in the department
Ensure critical to quality standards are met
Fill in for absentee employees
Work with manufacturing and industrial engineers, as needed, to improve job processes
Help maintain a safe working environment
Continuous involvement in Lean Manufacturing and 5S
Works cooperatively with co-workers
Responds to quality control checks and charts
Orders shop supplies
Any other duties as assigned
