About The Position

The Lead Park Attendant is responsible for promoting a positive image and ensuring that Carl Miller Park is well-maintained and clean and visitors have an enjoyable experience. This role requires a Certified Pool Operator or the ability to obtain one within 3 months from the date of hire.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Certified Pool Operator or obtain within 3 months from date of hire
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to operate a golf cart
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Communicates clearly and effectively to others to be understood by all, while utilizing strong listening skills to remain open to others’ ideas
  • Represents Newnan Utilities in a positive and professional manner to all customers, contractors, and vendors, responding promptly to their needs
  • Exhibits teamwork and puts team success above personal interests
  • Proven time management skills and prioritizes appropriately to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and manuals
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, and other safety equipment
  • Ability to safely operate various tools and equipment such as but not limited to landscaping equipment, basic tools, and pressure washer

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome visitors
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Carl Miller Park
  • Assist visitors with transporting picnic supplies by golf cart to the pavilion and/or grill areas
  • Maintenance tasks to include pressure washing, painting, landscaping, minor repairs, removal of trash and/or debris
  • Check on the restrooms every hour to ensure cleanliness and restock restroom supplies as needed
  • Monitor activities in a variety of areas to ensure visitors follow park rules and maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Train new employees and interns on department policies and procedures
  • Ensure proper operation and compliance of the splash pads, and conduct daily water analysis of splash pads by performing basic math calculations to ensure proper water pH levels
  • Receive and respond to visitor complaints in a timely manner with discretion and professionalism
  • Assist the Facilities & Grounds Manager in ensuring there is adequate staffing on each shift and obtain additional coverage as needed for callouts or cover shifts as needed
  • Assign staff and interns tasks as needed
  • Assist with ensuring that staff complete the Daily Task Checklist, Restroom Checklist, and Splash Pad Daily Checklist and maintain an organized filing system to retain completed checklists
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
