Responsible for the oversight of the shift-to-shift operations of their specific platoon. Functions as an emergency response medical professional that administers medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses such as cardiac arrests, strokes and trauma both pre-hospital and during intra-hospital transports. Assists with management of transports, balancing of day-to-day schedules (specifically when staffing is short and a need for a chase vehicle is to be determined), day-to-day inventory and reports of supplies and supply needs, equipment upkeep and maintenance needs and report vehicle needs/problems to leadership. Serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and works with both leadership and the Education Council Chairs with onboarding, training and logging of training for all new hires.
