About The Position

Eaton’s North America Sales division is currently seeking a Lead Outside Sales Engineer - Industrial within 50 miles of Deerfield Beach, FL. This role will drive sales of electrical power distribution equipment within the Industrial market. This exciting opportunity provides the ability to manage a customer base while driving sales of electrical products and services, while delivering technical solutions within the South Florida and East Coast Florida markets. It offers exposure to products, pricing, negotiations, and relationship management with customers and distributors. The primary function of the Lead Sales Engineer is to market and sell Eaton’s electrical products and services in a profitable and ethical manner to targeted customers in the Industrial market. This position will be responsible for achieving the assigned sales goal consistent with the expectations of a thoroughly seasoned professional sales engineer for the assigned product categories while under little supervision. It will be an expectation to optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin, while increasing sales in the marketplace. This position will need to coordinate sales for the assigned customer and distributor base. It has the responsibility to manage all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance with distributors, customers, end users, and specifiers. The primary functions include: providing sales and technical assistance for distributors, Industrial end-users and Electrical Group personnel; provide timely and accurate information for order entry, while elevating quality issues to attention of management, and ensuring that accurate information flows to market intelligence data on competitive products, customer needs, preference and buying habits; support distributor inventories and inventory turns by recommending specific products and levels to be stocked; and provide necessary reports and surveys requested in a timely manner.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, channel sales, business development, account management, sales engineering, product management, or related technical or commercial roles.
Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
Construction industry experience with the understanding of project timelines, critical milestones, and general awareness of construction documentation, plans and specifications
Experience with interpreting one line or single line diagrams
Electrical power distribution knowledge and experience
(5) years of electrical sales experience
Possess excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

Build relationships with key customers and channel partners to enhance long-term business prospects
Develop and execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements
Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications
Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgment
Collaborate cross-functionally with product lines, operations, and other internal stakeholders to provide customer centric solutions and resolve quality issues
Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisions
Assist teammates on training channel on Eaton products and electronic tools, systems, and resources
Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits to drive data-based decisions
Provide accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation, and technical support
Plan promotional events and presentations with distributor personnel to promote Eaton’s position, while developing a proven record of achieving assigned sales goals
Obtain ongoing training in both functional and technical skills
