About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for various levels to join C-17 Avionics/Flight Controls Development Engineering team for a Lead or Senior Test Design and Analysis Engineer located, in Long Beach, California. This position is to support C-17 Avionics/Flight Controls Development Engineering team. A high-wing, four-engine, T-tailed aircraft with a rear-loading ramp, the C-17 can carry large combat equipment and troops or humanitarian aid across international distances directly to small austere airfields anywhere in the world. The C-17 Globemaster III aircraft will fulfill military and humanitarian airlift needs well into the 21st century. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with and perform subsystem/system level testing of autopilot, stability augmentation system, primary flight controls, high lift controls, and fly-by-wire control systems.

Requirements

5 + years’ experience with aircraft systems including avionics, flight controls, hydraulics, electrical and integrated vehicle management systems
1 + years’ experience leading a team or project
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

Nice To Haves

10+ years of experience with air vehicle systems
Military or commercial aircraft program experience
Experience working within a matrixed reporting organization
Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
Ability to work with a diverse group of people and organizations
Exhibit excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Responsibilities

Lead a team in a collaborative environment in the design, analysis, test, and sustainment of the C-17 Flight Control System
Ensure technical compliance of project statement of work
Develop Flight Control System integration plan and lead a team to perform the testing phase of a project
Create subsystem development and system level tests based on requirements
Conduct subsystem development and system level tests in lab simulation facilities
Perform flight test validation testing
Document test findings, collaborate with systems focal/supplier to determine root cause on anomalies, communicate with supplier during test program to mature a solution
