As Lead Operator, you will lead the safe and effective day-to-day operations of the facility, including waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection activities. You will be responsible for supervising, coaching, and training Operators while fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence in alignment with SECURE's vision, mission, and values. You will provide guidance and support to Operators to ensure both individual and facility performance are maintained at a high standard. You will work closely with customers and must demonstrate strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role is based out of Redwater, AB. The team at the Redwater Facility takes pride in operating safely and delivering operational excellence. Requirements

  • Current status level must be Operator 1 Advanced or greater.
  • High School Diploma, General Education Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Valid and acceptable Driver’s License and successful completion of pre-employment testing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Operator in a Centrifuge Process or FST plant, with demonstrated expertise in all plant processes.
  • Minimum 3 years of waste processing operations experience.
  • Special training in boilers, centrifuges, pumps, repairs, shakers, loaders, and centrifuge operations
  • Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS, and TDG.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a physically and mentally demanding work environment.
  • Ability to accurately document work and maintain clear, consistent communication with the Facility Manager, Supervisors, Leads, and cross-shift teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, make sound decisions, and work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, operational excellence, and delivering a high level of customer service.
  • High level of integrity and accountability, including the ability to oversee facility operations in the absence of the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the plant and for supervising the plant Operators
  • Plant safety (i.e. ensuring that each operation is following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and safety work procedures, Standard Work Procedure (SWP) permitting, Hazard Assessments and iTrak items are entered and closed in a timely manner)
  • Ensure compliance to SECURE’s internal Governance Programs
  • Assigning roles to each Operator on shift and supervising each Operator’s area in the plant
  • Waste plant operation (ensuring solids processing is meeting or exceeding landfill criteria and solids testing)
  • Detecting, surveying, handling and decontaminating oilfield equipment and waste
  • Cleaning with high pressure water blast equipment
  • Sampling, documenting and storing waste
  • Maintenance of the decontamination equipment
  • General housekeeping (ensuring that the plant is kept clean and safe)
  • Training (ensuring each Operator is training in required areas, should be daily/ongoing)
  • Night shift (ensuring workers on night shift are clear in their roles and responsibilities for business continuity and support to daytime operations)
