About The Position

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. This role is an in‑office position based at our Toronto location. Our team is highly collaborative, and much of our work benefits from in‑person co‑creation, relationship‑building, and hands‑on partnership with leaders across the organization. Reporting to the Director, Network Operations Planning, you will serve as a liaise between the Electrification project delivery team, Network Operations Planning, and Operations. Key responsibilities include understanding the operational impact of proposed changes, ensuring operating requirements are correctly reflected in planning activities and proposals, and participating in change-management activities with affected business units.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent related industry experience required
  • Significant experience in electrified rail operations (heavy rail, LRT, or subway systems) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A graduate degree in electrical engineering or related industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience in a network control center setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and leverages an internal network for strategic pursuits that are specifically targeted to improve asset system readiness for the electrification asset base prior to operations.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with senior organizational leadership and gains trust with stakeholders (e.g., Capital Projects Group (CPG) Project Delivery Teams (PDTs), other business units, other transit agencies) to foster good relations, gain support, develop resources, drive results, realize project outcomes, manage conflicts, and represent the needs of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Operations and other affected business units to develop and review new or revised policies, plans, and procedures related to electrified rail operations.
  • Provides support and oversight to staff and project teams.
  • Promotes and creates a working environment aligned with the organization's desire to be the best company to work for.
  • Other duties as assigned.
