Requirements
- Doctorate degree
- 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following: Chemotherapy Pharmacy, Nuclear Pharmacy, Oncology
- Valid Pharmacist in the state of New York (NY)
- Valid BCOP
- Lead experience
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain employee training records for chemotherapy preparation
- Prepare and maintain policies specific to chemotherapies and biologic medications
- Collaborate with pharmacy and infusion center staff to optimize workflow and reduce patient care delays
- Assist Pharmacy Buyer with chemotherapy inventory and procurement to minimize drug waste
- Review chemotherapy order sheets for accuracy and optimization according to guidelines and protocols
- Coordinate with providers to optimize vial sizes and ensure medication stability and concentration
- Monitor lifetime doses for medications with cumulative dose limits
- Assist with new formulary medication implementation and staff education
- Identify and communicate drug-specific alerts for inclusion in drug dictionary
- Consult with infusion center providers and nursing staff regarding medication orders
- Support prior authorization staff to ensure insurance coverage for therapies
- Assist infusion center staff with patient counseling and medication reconciliation upon request
