As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will review and evaluate outpatients and inpatients referred to Occupational Therapy by physicians, perform diagnostic tests, measurements, and evaluations, and develop personalized care plans with short- and long-term goals. You will administer Occupational therapy treatment techniques and direct patient care activities of Occupational Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapy Aides, student clinical affiliates, and volunteers. Additionally, you will participate in training programs for other Allied Health departments in the hospital. While collaborating with the Director and Clinic Leads, you will audit, evaluate, and provide feedback on occupational therapy staff performance and adherence to department standards. You will communicate treatment needs to patients and families, fostering cooperation and engagement, and provide home treatment instructions when needed. You will administer therapeutic techniques to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability, and educate patients in the use of braces, canes, crutches, or prosthetic devices. You will record evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes in medical records, collaborate actively with the healthcare team to coordinate care, and participate in training programs and assist with special projects.
