Lead Occupational Therapist | Therapy and Rehabilitation, Full-Time
About The Position
Join our collaborative, patient-centered team at Memorial Health, where your skills will help restore lives and empower recovery. As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will review and evaluate outpatients and inpatients referred to Occupational Therapy by physicians, perform diagnostic tests, measurements, and evaluations, and develop personalized care plans with short- and long-term goals. You will administer Occupational therapy treatment techniques and direct patient care activities of Occupational Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapy Aides, student clinical affiliates, and volunteers. Additionally, you will participate in training programs for other Allied Health departments in the hospital. While collaborating with the Director and Clinic Leads, you will audit, evaluate, and provide feedback on occupational therapy staff performance and adherence to department standards. You will communicate treatment needs to patients and families, fostering cooperation and engagement, and provide home treatment instructions when needed. You will administer therapeutic techniques to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability, and educate patients in the use of braces, canes, crutches, or prosthetic devices. You will record evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes in medical records, collaborate actively with the healthcare team to coordinate care, and participate in training programs and assist with special projects. Requirements

- Consistent, reliable attendance
- Completion of mandatory training, health requirements, and in-services (team training, safety, infection control, etc.)
- Compliance with hospital and departmental Ethics and Compliance programs, including promptly reporting variances through the proper channels
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program of study
- Licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Ohio
- Attains American Heart Association BLS certification within six (6) months of employment and maintains continuous certification
Responsibilities

- Administer therapeutic techniques (e.g., exercise, Dry needling, IASTM, moist heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage) to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability
- Educate patients in the use of braces, canes, crutches, or prosthetic devices
- Record evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes in medical records
- Collaborate actively with the healthcare team to coordinate care
- Participate in training programs and assist with special projects
