About The Position

Pathway Family Services is seeking a Full-Time Lead Nurse to join their team. This role involves leading a team of healthcare professionals in providing oversight and treatment planning for the physical well-being of children and adolescents receiving residential treatment for behavioral health needs. The Lead Nurse will provide nursing care to children overcoming trauma, ensuring assessments are completed, medication management orders are fulfilled, and educating children and families about their care. Responsibilities also include coordinating health appointments, working with in-house medication providers, and ensuring all documentation meets federal, state, and program requirements. The ideal candidate is compassionate, eager to learn, and committed to helping families build strengths and connect with community resources, approaching their work with a trauma-informed perspective.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas.
  • Must be 21 years of age and 3 years older than the oldest resident.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency or personal vehicle to transport clients.
  • Must have a valid drivers' insurance.
  • Must be eligible for credentialing with Kansas Medicaid for billing needs.

  • Supervision experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of health care professionals providing oversight and treatment planning for the physical wellbeing of children/ adolescents receiving residential treatment for behavioral health needs.
  • Provide nursing care for children who are working to overcome the trauma they have experienced.
  • Ensure that all assessments are completed.
  • Ensure medication management orders are fulfilled.
  • Educate children and families about the care they are receiving.
  • Coordinate and complete health appointments.
  • Coordinate appointments with in-house medication providers.
  • Ensure that all documentation meets federal, state, and program requirements.
