About The Position

The Lead Nuclear Medicine Tech applies the practice of nuclear medicine imaging through safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment. This role leads the daily section operations and acts as a point of contact for hospital staff, physicians, patients, and their families. The position also manages staff scheduling, team oversight, and delivers trainings. Additionally, the Lead Nuclear Medicine Tech monitors the section's nuclear equipment, coordinating repairs and making recommendations, and researches, develops, and implements quality performance standards and imaging techniques.

Requirements

Associate’s degree from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (required)
Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
2 years of experience practicing Nuclear Medicine (required)

Responsibilities

Manages the procurement, triage, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage, and safe handling of all radioactive materials.
Leads the daily section operations and acts as point of contact for hospital staff, physicians, patients, and their families.
Manages staff scheduling, maintaining team oversight, and delivering trainings.
Monitors section’s nuclear equipment, coordinating repairs and making recommendations.
Researches, develops, and implements quality performance standards and imaging techniques.
