About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to shape the reliability strategy for critical enterprise network services. The role influences how network reliability is measured, engineered, automated, and continuously improved, with a focus on modernization, operational risk reduction, and stability for services supporting critical business operations. The role leads enterprise infrastructure software upgrades, vulnerability management, incident response, change management, and network reliability and service stabilization programs. It assesses production risks and quality, security, and compliance requirements; identifies process gaps; and collaborates with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. This position follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote. It is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Experience leading planning, governance, and execution of software upgrades across enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience leading enterprise vulnerability management and network security initiatives, including risk assessment, remediation prioritization, cross-functional coordination, and reduction of critical security exposures.
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability lifecycle management, threat mitigation strategies, and risk-based decision-making in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide incident response and service recovery, conduct root cause analysis, drive sustainable corrective actions, and implement process improvements that enhance operational resilience and service stability.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant networking, cloud, reliability, or IT service management certifications, such as CCNP/CCIE, Juniper, Arista, AWS/Azure networking, ITIL, or equivalent credentials.
  • Knowledge or relevant experience in routing, switching, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, high-availability design, and network services such as load balancing, DNS, NTP, firewalls, and network security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, governance, and execution of enterprise infrastructure software upgrades, ensuring platform stability, operational readiness, security compliance, and minimal business disruption.
  • Direct enterprise vulnerability management by assessing network security risks, setting remediation priorities, coordinating cross-functional mitigation, and reducing exposure to critical threats.
  • Lead technical response to major incidents, including triage, root cause analysis, service restoration, and long-term corrective actions for high-impact production events.
  • Provide strategic oversight for change management by evaluating technical risk, developing implementation approaches, and aligning changes with reliability, resiliency, and operational excellence objectives.
  • Lead enterprise-wide network reliability and service stabilization programs by identifying systemic issues, implementing engineering improvements, establishing operational standards, and improving performance, availability, and customer experience.
