About The Position

The Multi-Modality Lead Tech reports to the manager of CT. They are responsible for assisting the CT Manager with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department. They will be responsible for monitoring the BBEMC radiology staff, prioritizing patient workload and providing guidance and accountability to team members. They must be able to fully function in all areas of the department. They are expected to provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities-CT and Xray. The technologist must be able to effectively explain the procedures to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. The technologist must produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • One year of radiologic experience.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Must obtain Advanced Modality registration within 1 year of hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing (Continuous).

  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance (Continuous).
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors (Continuous).
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (Continuous).
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (Continuous).
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (Continuous).
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations (Continuous).
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions (Continuous).
  • Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function (Selected Positions) (Continuous).
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required (Selected Positions) (Continuous).

Nice To Haves

  • Able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiar with age specific criteria.
  • One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist as well as CT.
  • Certification is required in CT.
