About The Position

Three Crosses Regional Hospital is seeking a Lead MRI Technologist committed to clinical excellence and building a patient-centered culture. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the MRI department, including staffing, patient schedules, equipment maintenance, and quality control. The Lead MRI Technologist will also assist with staff training, interviewing, process improvement, and managing patient complaints. The position requires adherence to the highest ethical standards and a supportive attitude towards the hospital's mission, vision, and values. The incumbent must possess knowledge of healthcare systems and the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in MRI Technology
  • 2-3 years MRI related experience.
  • Possess a level of clinical expertise and competency in cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Must be ARRT (MR) registered
  • Active NM MIRTP Licensure (Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Program)
  • Current BLS (CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Assists Director with oversight of staff in operation of imaging equipment and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance.
  • Provides daily assignment of staff and monitors workload to adjust staffing and/or workload appropriately.
  • Assists with hiring and oversees orientation of staff.
  • Schedules staff to achieve productivity on goals and conform to established protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee procedural flow of department to assure timely performance.
  • Ensures hospital policies and procedures are consistently implemented and followed by employees.
  • Sets clear performance and behavioral expectations and objectives and holds direct reports accountable for meeting those expectations and objectives.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assumes responsibility for the daily operations of the MRI department, including staffing schedules, patient exam schedules, maintenance, and quality control for imaging equipment.
  • Maintains adequate supplies, addresses the physical environment and cleanliness for the area.
  • Assists with department orientation/training of staff and gives input into annual evaluations.
  • Assist with Interviewing potential staff members.
  • Assists director with process improvement indicators and data collection, ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Performs real-time patient complaint management; along with communication and/or escalation to the Director.
  • Provides open communication with the Directors or Nursing Supervisor in the absence of the director.
  • Acts as the point person for PACS, verifying that there are no outstanding reports and troubleshooting issues within the PACS workflow.

  • Independently performs two or more imaging modalities.
