About The Position

This role involves completing a volume-appropriate route and staying informed about facility clearances, including service, UTOs, same-day refusals, and ammonias. The Lead Mobile Phlebotomist will also train new phlebotomists when no trainers are designated, attend facility start-ups, and conduct quarterly trunk checks. Daily accountability for all route sheets is required, along with staying up-to-date on mileage entry. This position also assists the Area Processing Supervisor (APS) with ordering supplies, closing orders, collecting centrifuge logs, and managing butterfly logs/usage if no other designee is appointed. The Lead Mobile Phlebotomist works cooperatively with various departments such as Laboratory Dispatch, Courier Dispatch, Couriers, Accessioning, Customer Service, and Data Entry.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid auto insurance.
  • Must have a valid auto registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous phlebotomy experience.
  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Completes volume appropriate route.
  • Keeps apprised of AM facility clearance, including: service, UTO’s, same day refusals, ammonias etc.
  • Develops good rapport with dispatch for clear communication.
  • Trains new phlebotomists when no trainers are designated for the area.
  • Attends facility start up in-service with APS (time appropriate).
  • Conducts quarterly trunk checks.
  • Accounts for all route sheets on a daily basis (previous day or days if Monday).
  • Stays up to date on mileage entry on ExpenseWire.
  • Assists APS in ordering supplies and closing orders, if there is no other designee.
  • Assists APS in collection of centrifuge logs and placement in binders, if there is no other designee.
  • Assists APS in butterfly logs/usage, if there is no other designee.
  • Works cooperatively with all other departments, including but not limited to: Laboratory Dispatch, Courier Dispatch, Couriers, Accessioning, Customer Service and Data Entry.
